How much powerful "Anonymous" is?

Online Group Anonymous is now a days is a has threaten to release some information about some influential public figures. Victims are calling Anonymous dangerous, destructive and inhuman. But supporters says they are true friend for a nation and patriots. We are today here now to know how much powerful Anonymous is.

Anybody can join Anonymous. There is no area, divisional, district or country representative for Anonymous. Or there is not any central singular representative of this group. There are certain things common to this Anonymous members such as internet activism and obviously anonymity. Guy fawks mask in the symbol of Anonymous and their members. During Mask March in different countries, they used Guy Fawks mask. 

According to Wikipedia, "Anonymous is a loosely associated international network of activist and hacktivist entities. A website nominally associated with the group describes it as "an Internet gathering" with "a very loose and decentralized command structure that operates on ideas rather than directives". The group became known for a series of well-publicized publicity stunts and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on government, religious, and corporate websites."

There are no other way to elaborate more about this group. And even no one knows how many members does they have. There is no specific criteria to be a member of Anonymous. They born in early 2000 from image and messaging service 4chan. They promote Anonymous discussion in different blogs, forums, chat messengers. They started their journey at 2008 by hacking Church of Scientology. 

To ability of collectively over powered in a common target was their main tools DDoS attacks. In case of DDoS, when a website receives more request than it can handle and it causes crash! Through this method Anonymous members shutdown a lot of websites and even in back US government arrested 13 Anonymous member from different places. Taking down a website is really not easy so you can obviously measure how much powerful Anonymous is.

Their another sister concern team Lulzsec is also powerful that much that they hacked Sony and disclosed personal information's of its users. They hacked Sony Pictures and Play stations and compromised personal information of more than 1 million people. CIA website was shut down. On that time Lulzsec hackers arrested and sentenced to prison by London Court.

Global events like "Arab Spring" got influences from this Anonymous group. They declared Cyber Wars against government of Arab countries. Facebook, Twitter helped in Arab Spring blossom. 

It is obviously funny to ask someone that, how powerful is Anonymous? Cause even in real life 90% of Anonymous members do not know who is Anonymous? And how many members they have globally? Its not measurable cause its increasing day by day.
