7 Steps to secure your Facebook Profile from hackers

Few days back I shared, how much easy is hacking a Facebook ID. Even keeping 2 step authentication code system can not keep you safe! So let's see how to get a ride from this problems.

Step-1:
Keep "Login Alerts" & "Login Approvals" on. Go to Settings > Security > Login Alerts > Tick Get Notification & select emails too. Again, go to Settings > Security > Login Approvals > Click on the tick box, "Require a security code to access my account from unknown browsers". You will get security codes for every single time any new devices or browsers tries to access to your Facebook ID. Even if it's you or someone else.

Step-2:
Use code generator for iPhone or Android Devices. Go to Settings > Security > Click on Enable.

Step-3:
For 2-step authentication code please use a "Phone Number" which one is not a public number or like no one knows that. It means you will have to use a number which people don't know. Never give or share that number with anyone but the number will be with you always. I mean, keep it secret. Go to Settings > Mobile > Add another mobile phone number.

Step-4:
You can keep "Mobile Pin" On. If you enable this feature, you need to prefix every status changing and friend adding text you send to Facebook with your selected PIN. This is to make sure that others will not have access to your account by spoofing your phone number or borrowing your phone. Go to Settings > Mobile > Mobile PIN > On and place you desired PIN.

Step-5:
Same like the Step-3, please use an "Email Address" which one is not a public email or like no one knows that. It means you will have to use an email address which people don't know. Never give or share that number with anyone but the email will be with you always. Just keep it secret. Go to General > Email > Add a new email.

Step-6:
Go to Settings > Security > Edit Legacy Contact > Add someone whom you trust.
You may ask, why you will do that? Okay, let me explain. According to Facebook, "A legacy contact is someone you choose to manage your account after you pass away. They'll be able to do things like pin a post on your Timeline, respond to new friend requests and update your profile picture. They won't post as you or see your messages." - So please add someone of your close. You have all the controls until you die. You can mark "Account Deletion" on If you don't want a Facebook account after you pass away, you can request to have your account permanently deleted.

Step-7:
Go to Settings > Security > Trusted Contacts > Choose Trusted Contacts.
According to Facebook, "You can choose 3 to 5 friends that you can call for help if there's ever a problem with your account. For your security, we'll notify any new contacts that you add."

There are some more things are available. But these things are very much important to keep your Facebook Profile safe from hackers. My next topic about Facebook series is, "Things and activities we need to avoid in Facebook". My previous post's related to Facebook is:
